Welcome to the world of scuba diving. The invention of scuba diving equipment nearly 71 years ago opened the door to more people enjoying the sport of scuba. Exploring kelp forests, diving in crystal clear water, swimming with sharks, examining a ship wreck, or photographing exotic fish on a coral reef, it can all be done by everyday people just like yourself. All you need are the basic skills and knowledge to breathe, dive, and function in this other world underwater.

It starts with certification. Here at Mike’s Scuba we are Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certified. PADI is the largest certifying agency in the world. A PADI certification is recognized as a quality certification by dive facilities all over the globe. It tells everyone you are certified diver.
Once you have your certification the next step is experience. Fill up your dive logbook with experience. Like all skills, you need to practice. Practice makes perfect. Experience helps you fine tune your abilities to control your buoyancy, breathing, and safety skills. Soon the underwater world will become second nature.

Mike's Scuba South Enrolls 22nd Scuba Diving Student!

Well, about a month has passed since we have officially opened for Private PADI OPEN WATER CLASSES in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Our own Andy McGhee has been working very hard at what he loves.  Teaching Scuba!  Today, we enrolled our 22nd student in just 26 days!  The best part about this is that we are making new friends every day!  There is nothing better than sharing something you love with others!  There is nothing like introducing Scuba to a new student and taking them on their first Open Water dive in the Ocean!  We thank all of our friends (AKA "Customers") in Florida and thank you for your patronage while we get started up here in beautiful Florida!  Mike is headed down this week (on Wednesday) and staying until Sunday!  I'm hoping to do some pleasure dives with some of our certified students!  To all of the new students who have already graduated and earned their PADI Open Water Scuba Certification in Florida - CONGRATULATIONS!

We have a Seaquest Trilam Drysuit.  Excellent condition.  I believe this is a size XL or XXL.  Seals are latex and in great condition also.  ONLY $200.  Come try it on!  We need the room so this must go today!

Yesterday we took some used gear in. Used tank (aluminum 80, old regulators (still work, just old), Dive Light (not sure if it works yet, haven't had time to test), a really nice soft weight belt (I'm guessing about 20 pounds), wetsuit, mask, fins, and a couple other little things. $200 takes all. I'll be at the shop at 12.
